The Energy, Nanomechanics, and Surfaces (ENS) Research Laboratory is a part of the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at the University of Kentucky. The ENS Lab has received support from national and state agencies and science/engineering foundations, such as National Science Foundation, NASA, and Department of Energy, as well as from industries. The ENS Lab conducts research on developing materials and manufacturing processes for the next generation electrochemical energy storage systems with increased energy and power density, longer durability, lower cost, and greater safety. Its recent PhDs are working at General Motors, Ford, Apple, and several national labs.
